I promise I have a good reason for posting about video games on my page. It is no secret that I’m a huge nerd, I sell video games for a living. Recently, I’ve been playing Bravely Default, a new game by Square Enix for the Nintendo 3DS. It was released in the states in February this year.
The reason I chose to post about it here, is because it is one of the most visually stunning games I’ve ever played on a Nintendo hand held. I love the art style of the characters, I absolutely love the hand drawn and pieced together animated backgrounds, and the story is awesome. Visually, it is one of the most stunning games I’ve ever seen. The city of Florem, so far, is probably my favorite town thus far, with its extremely bright, vivid color.
It is also no secret that I tend to criticize and appreciate movies, music videos, and video games for their art styles and directions, so If you were expecting more of a review on the game, I apologize, but if you enjoy a good JRPG, give Bravely Default a try. I promise it wont disappoint you.
This is an artist who is someone you should really follow on Deviant Art. Wonderful painter, and beautiful images throughout. I love the way she paints faces and portrays emotions, and I love that she doesn’t really do too much with backgrounds, so that it makes the person in the picture stand out.
If you appreciate interesting portraiture, check her out!
I am taking commissions currently, and would love to be considered to do your creative jobs, as I am a student trying to pay her way through college 🙂 If you are interested in commissioning me, here are some of my starting rates.
I spoke with this artist briefly in my time working at Paper Crown. I adore his stencil art style street art paintings. If you are in the Chicago land area, you should check out his work.
Check out his Facebook page for upcoming shows and updates on his art!
She’s one of the most talented artists I know. She’s Russian born, and moved to the states in middle school, when I met her. As long as I’ve known her she’s been very passionate about drawing and art. Also, insanely talented, not only in art, but language and academics. She traveled on the convention circuit in the states for over 5 years. She is currently working in Japan, and still paints and draws on the side.
I’ve decided to start posting my thoughts about art and the industry of illustration, advice, possibly some tutorials and such on a blog. I am in no way a writer, but I wanted to express how I feel about the arts that would leave it open for discussion.
In high school, I had a lot of friends that I shared thoughts on art with constantly. Though we would butt heads quite frequently, I learned a lot from these friends. I miss them terribly. One is in Japan with the JET program, and another is pursuing a career in digital photography down in Sydney, Australia. As for my friends that remain in the country, well, growing up and life gets in the way. We still hang out as often as we can, but hey, that’s unfortunately part of getting older. You dont see people as much as you would like to.
So, follow this blog if you would like to, but it really is mainly for expressing my thoughts on various subjects related to art. Chime in, if you wish 🙂
